The Bota Bota ferry reopens as a Luxury Spa

Bota Bota, a 57-year-old ferryboat anchored in Montreal’s Old Port has been reincarnated into a floating day spa, by Sid Lee Architecture. The five-storied ship operated as a ferryboat between Sorel and Berthier, Quebec during the 50′s and 60′s, followed by a stint as a Richelieu River show boat.. The spa-sur-l’eau now offers passengers the healing benefits of a spa coupled with the natural lulling movements of the St Lawrence River. From seaweed wraps to massages, mani-pedis, an open-air whirlpool and a cocktail bar, two saunas with incredible views of the river and the Old Port, a eucalyptus steam bath, relaxation areas, gourmet snack counter, terraces and garden, the Bota Bota ferry spa offers all kinds of unique pampering experiences.
As a spa, Bota Bota will remain moored and so its engines were removed to make way for guest locker rooms. Take a tour of the ferry in the video below.
