Abramovich’s Eclipse now available for charter at $2m per week

Six months after he splurged on the Eclipse, the world’s largest yacht, Roman Abramovich is now offering it up for charter at a modest $2 million per week. The 538-ft Blohm + Voss behemoth is available for interested parties via ultra-exclusive brokerage SuperYachtsMonaco, and as one would expect, is the world’s most expensive yacht charter by far. The yacht, which can house 30 guests and 75 crew, reportedly features a military-grade missile defense system, armor plating, bulletproof windows, three helipads, two swimming pools and a wellness center, among other luxe amenities. The yacht also comes fitted with an anti-paparazzi electronic shield, which will ensure privacy while on board. Its annual running costs are estimated to be about $50 million, filling the fuel tank alone costs $650,000.
However, it is rumored that Abramovich who paid $1.2 billion for Eclipse, has himself only spent a few hours on board the 162m-long vessel. Don’t blame him … I’d be too scared to touch anything!
