The Mandarin Oriental Paris is now open

After much anticipation, the Mandarin Oriental Paris opens its grand designer doors today. Located at 251 rue Saint-Honoré; in the city’s first arrondissement, the hotel has been one of the most anticipated hotel openings this year. Sitting in the heart of the city, the building’s original Art Deco façade has been conserved and restored by architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte. Inside, designer Sybille de Margerie has created some glamorous, yet contemporary interiors across its 138 lush rooms. The design combines Parisian sophistication, with art deco details and a few subtle oriental touches, true to the Mandarin Oriental spirit. Some lesser subtle ones include the hotel’s vast indoor garden of ‘oriental inspiration’ created by Wilmotte & Associés, in association with the landscape artists François Neveux and Bernard Rouyer. The property also houses a 900 sq m of pure indulgence MO Spa, offering holistic experiences including some exclusive Mandarin Oriental signature therapies in the seven private suites, which are all equipped for hydrotherapy and heat treatments. There is also a large indoor pool and a fitness centre. Foodies can rejoice as the Sur Mesure par Thierry Marx restaurant is clearly the jewel in the hotel’s gourmet crown, seating 44 diners in a Patrick Jouen designed space. Open all day, Camelia serves bistro cuisine with specialities prepared while you watch. The hotel will also have a bar and a cake shop!
Now, if you’re heading to Paris and would like to check-out the new hotel, here’s a deal you shouldn’t miss.
