We wouldn’t expect anything but the best from Barbie. Even after 50 years, faithful Ken does not disappoint when it comes to keeping his lady happy, from the Dream House to the Corvette, to the Mattel-inspired designer clothes, shoes, jewellry and handbags. And now, the stunner has added another feather to her cap with the Barbie suite at the Hotel Plaza Athenee in Paris. The Plaza Athenee which opened in 1911 is known for its decadence, with endless crystal chandeliers, tall vases of blooming flowers, and ornate artwork and furnishings is located on Avenue Montaigne. This August, the hotel will unveil their Barbie suite, allowing Barbie fanatics to live out their Barbie-dream, which by the way is very very very pink! The hotel will have two types of Barbie rooms – one for the young Barbie fan (ages 3-8) and one for the more mature Barbie fan (ages 8-13). The “Modern Princess” or “Fashion Icon” rooms will both offer Barbie accessories. The Modern Princess rooms comes complete with a princess dress and pet-grooming table, while the Fashion Icon room will appeal to more mature fashionistas, where guests will get Barbie t-shirts and the room will be complete with a computer and designer furniture. There are plenty of Barbie-goodies you can take home from bath amenities, hair accessories, lip gloss and hand lotion. Check out our pictures for the pinky-details.
But, it’s not all girl-fun. The hotel is also hosting a Hot Wheels room for boys; an entire suite is decorated in flames, cars and tracks, perfect for any car-obsessed kid. The room, which is designed as a “pit row” for kids, is outfitted with a custom car-shaped bed flanked by Hot Wheels blue-and-orange bedside tables and mirrors flashing the brand’s iconic “flame” motif. There are plenty of posters, gadgets, race tracks and more to keep car lovers occupied while the Barbie girls next door play dress up.
So, go on, live you Barbie dream!
